TCM And Blood Stasis Due To Qi Stagnation

Main symptoms and signs: Prolonged abdominal pain, and worsened under pressure, stabbing pain with fixed site or palpable mass, dark purplish tongue with petechiae, and unsmooth pulse.Therapeutic methods: Promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis and promoting qi circulation to kill pain.

Blood Stasis

Prescription and drugs: The prescription used is Shaofu Zhuyu Decoction (Decoction for Removing Hypogastric Blood Stasis) composed of 3 g of Rougui (Cortex Cinnamomi), 6 g of Ganjiang (Rhizoma Zingiberis), 6 g of Xiaohuixiang (Fructus Foenicuii), 6 g of Puhuang (Pollen Typhae) (to be wrapped), 10 g of Wulingzhi (Faeces Trogopterorum), 10 g of Chishaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Rubra), 10 g of Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), 6 g of Chuanxiong (Rhizoma Chuanxiong) and 10 g of Yanhusuo (Rhizoma Corydalis).

Modification: For the patients with distending pain due to qi stagnation, 3 g of Chuanlianzi (Fructus Meliae Toosendan) and 6 g of Wuyao (Radix Linderae) are added; for the patients with abdominal.mass, 6 g of Sanleng (Rhizoma Sparganii), 6 g of Ezhu (Rhizoma Zedoariae) and 8 g of Chuanshanjia (Squama Manitis) are included.
