The Delayed Menstruation Can Be Controlled

Delayed Menstruation

This is a disturbance of the menstrual cycle delayed for 8-9 days, and can even be as long as 40-50 days, but the occasional delay of menstruation in women without any other symptoms is not considered a pathological phenomenon.

It can be divided into 3 types: Patients with delayed menstruation due to cold pathogens in the blood may suffer from delayed menstruation and discharge of scanty dim red or pink vaginal blood, cold limbs and pain in the abdomen with preference for warmth and pressure applied to the abdomen; patients with blood deficiency may suffer from delayed menstruation and discharge of scanty pink vaginal blood, and pain and an empty sensation in the abdomen; and patients with Qi stagnation may suffer from delayed menstruation and discharge of vaginal blood varying in amount, pain and distension in the lower abdomen, and distress in the chest and flanks.

Recipe 1: Haws 50 g and brown sugar 30 g.
Administration: A decoction of haws and sugar is drunk twice a day for several days.
Indication: This decoction can be constantly drunk to treat delayed menstruation due to accumulation of cold pathogens in the blood.

Recipe 2: Haws 10 g, Rougui (Cinnamon bark) 6 g and brown sugar 30 g.
Administration: A decoction of the above herbs is drunk, twice a day.
Indication: This recipe can warm the meridians, expel cold pathogens, promote blood circulation and release blood
stasis, to treat dysmenorrhea and delayed menstruation due to accumulation of cold pathogens.

Recipe 3: Haw 30 g, Foshou (finger citron) 30 g, Sharen (spiny amomum fruit) 30 g and rice wine 500 g.
Administration: The above herbs are soaked in rice wine for 3-6 days for drinking amounts of 15-30 ml twice a day.
Indication: This recipe can adjust circulation of Qi and blood, and release stagnation to treat delayed menstruation due to stagnation of Qi. If the patient is averse to wine, the ingredients may be soaked in vinegar with sugar.
