Cure For Chest Pain

This is a symptom of a disorder in the chest, which contains the heart and lungs. It can be divided into 3 types: Patients with chest pain due to stagnation of heart blood may suffer from a fixed pricking pain in the chest, worse at night, and palpitations of the heart; patients with chest pain due to accumulation of coldness may suffer from pain in the chest radiating to the back and aggravated by coldness, chest distress, shortness of breath, palpitations of the heart, orthopnea, pale complexion, cold limbs and spontaneous sweating; and patients with chest pain due to accumulation of phlegm and heat pathogens in the lungs may suffer from ches pain, cough, asthma, spitting of yellow sticky sputum, fever and annoyance.

Chest pain is an important symptom of coronary heat disease, lung abscess and lobar pneumonia in Western medicine.

Recipe 1: Seeds of white gourd 30 g, reed 20 g, Yiyiren (Job's tears) 20 g and seeds of snakegourd 10 g.
Administration: A decoction of the above herbs is drunk twice a day.
Indication: This recipe can be used to treat chest pain with cough, asthma and spitting of yellow sticky sputum due to accumulation of phlegm and heat pathogens in the lungs.

Recipe 3: Ten fresh haws and brown sugar 30 g.
Administration: The haws are pounded and boiled with sugar to prepare a tea for drinking over several days.
Indication: This tea can promote blood circulation, release blood stasis in collaterals and stop pricking chest pain due to stagnation of heart blood.

Recipe 4: Guixin (shaved cinnamon bark) 2 g, Fuling (poria) 10 g and rice 100 g.
Administration: A decoction of the first 2 herbs is used to make a gruel with rice for oral intake.
Indication: This gruel can expel cold pathogens, resolve turbid pathogens and promote circulation of Yang by pungent and warm herbs to treat the chest pain due to stagnation of cold pathogens and blockage of Yang in the chest.

Recipe 5: Peach kernel 10 g, Yiyiren (Job's tears) 30 g and rice 100 g.
Administration: A decoction of the first 2 herbs is used to make a gruel with rice for oral intake twice a day.
Indication: This gruel is used to treat chest pain due to accumulation of phlegm and heat pathogens in the lungs.
