Main symptoms and signs: Thin and weak body, lustreless complexion, apathy, profuse sweat, flaccid limbs, retardation of dentition, sitting, standing and walking, skeleton deformity like square skull, pigeon breast, beading of ribs, eversion of ribs and curved lower limbs, pale tongue with a little fur, thready and weak pulse.
Therapeutic methods: Tonifying the kidney and nourishing nephric essence.

Prescription and drugs: The prescription used is the modified Heche Dazao Pill composed of 10 g of Ziheche (Placenta Hominis), 8 g of Danggui (Radix Angelicae Sinensis), 10 g of Shudihuang (Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata) , 6 g of Huainiuxi (Radix Achyranthis Bidentatae), 10 g of Guiban (Plastrum Testudinis) (to be decocted first), 8 g of Renshen (Radix Ginseng), 8 g of Lujiaopian (slices ofconus Cervi) (to be decocted first), 6 g of Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis), 12 g of Fuling (Poria), 15 g of Shanyao (Rhizoma Dioscoreae) and 8 g of Duzhong (Cortex Eatcommiae).

Modification: For the patients with profuse sweat, 20 g of Longgu (Os Draconis Fossilia) (to be decocted first) and 20 g of Mull (Concha Ostreae) (to be decocted first) are added; for the patients with restlessness due to deficiency, 8 g of Suanzaoren (Semen Ziziphi spinosae) and 8 g of Yuanzhi (Radix Polygalae) are included.
