Therapeutic methods: Strengthening the spleen and soothing the liver.
Prescription and drugs: The prescription used is the modified Yipi Zhenjing Powder (Spleen-benefiting and Convulsion-relieving Powder) composed of 10 g of Dangshen (Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae), 10 g of Fuling (Potia), 10 g of Cangzhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis), 10 g of Bazhu (Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae) 10 g of Gouteng (Bamulus Uncariae cum Uncis), 20 g of Muli (Concha Ostreae) (to be decocted first), 12 g of Baishaoyao (Radix Paeoniae Alba) and 3 g of Gancao (Radix Glycyrrhizae).
Modification: For the patients with weak physique and profuse sweat, 6 g of Wuweizi (Fructus Schisandrae) and 2 g of Longgu (Os Draconis Fossilia) (to be decocted first) are added; for the patients with susceptibility to fright, 6 g of Chantui (Periostracum Cicadae) is included for the patients with nighty cry and dysphoria, 8 g of Zhuye (Folium Phyllostachydis Nigrae) and 2 g of Dengxincao (Medulla Junci) are added
