Water Is Also An Important Rmedy In Tibetan medicine(A)
The following being commonly used: rainwater, snow water, river water, well water, seawater and water from forests. Among them, rainwater is of best quality as it falls from the sky. During its process of falling, it comes into contact with sunlight, moonlight, and wind. Hence, it is full of vitality and refreshes the mind, and is as light as manna. It is better collected in a spacious field with clean containers. Its remedial action is quite satisfactory. Turbid rainwater can't be used for therapeutic purposes, because it is mixed with other substances and doesn't have contact with sunlight or moonlight, and hence is not a quality remedy.

Cool water can be used for treating alcoholism, coma, nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Boiled cool water is light and effective for mkhris pa disorders.

Tibetan medicine claims that alcohol is helpful to digestion and the digestive fire. Its nature is sweet, sour, and acrid. It is effective for insomnia. Appropriate drinking is beneficial to the health, and old wine is useful in rlung and badkan disorders. However, excessive drinking is not encouraged for intoxication is unavoidable.

Tibetan medicine also pays attention to mutual-antagonistic nature of foods, claiming that some foods cannot be taken at the same time, including milk and walnut, apricot nut, mustard oil and mushroom. When they are taken together, intoxication will be resulted. This question is open to further study.

Daily Life and Macrobiotics
Tibetan medicine pays close attention to daily life and keeping fit to prevent diseases and consider this as a subsidiary to treatment. In addition to changing clothes with variation of weather, macrobiotics is also very important to one's health and long life. There are altogether six seasons in Tibetan medicine, each with its special items for keeping fit.
