Effective Thearapy For prickly Heat

This is a skin disease occurring in hot and damp summers, showing small vesicles and papulovesicles due to blockage of sweat ducts. The skin lesions are the dense papules and papulovesicles with red shadow, itching and burning sensation on the neck, fossa of the elbow and knee, chest, back, head, face, crease underneath the breast and inguinal groove. After the weather turns cool, the skin lesions may dry up and heal, with slight desquamation. The scratching may cause infection and produce folliculitis, impetigo and furuncles.

Recipe 1: White gourd 60 g and Yiyiren (Job's tears) 30 g.
Administration: The white gourd and Yiyiren are boiled in water to prepare a gruel for oral intake once a day for one week.
Indication: This gruel can clear heat and eliminate poison to treat prickly heat in strong people with apparent local erythema, many papules and papulovesicles and severe itching.

Recipe 2: White gourd 60 g, mung bean 30 g, kelp 15 g and an adequate amount of sugar. Administraton: The decoction of above materials is drunk once a day for one week.
Indication: This recipe is used to treat prickly heat in patients with apparent erythema, a large number of small vesicles or papulovesicles with burning sensation and severe itching, severe thirst, passage of hard stool and dark urine in short streams. It is more effective in young and strong patients.

Recipe 3: ADadequate amount of Pipaye (loquat leaf).
Administration: A decoction of Pipaye is used to wash the skin lesions several times per day.
Indication: This method can be used to treat prickly heat, furuncles and acne of the face.

Recipe 4: Ten honeyed dates and fresh leaves of Jishiteng (paederis seandens) 30 g and a small amount of brown sugar.
Administration: The first 2 ingredients are boiled in 3 bowls of water to prepare a decoction of one bowl for drinking after the sugar is added and the leaves are removed, once a day for one week.
Indication: This recipe can enrich Qi, blood and vital energy, and eliminate poison to treat prickly heat with papules and few papulovesicles and slight itching on dull purple skin in patients with pale complexion, mental and physical tiredness, shallow breath and no desire to talk. It is more useful in aged weak people or patients of anemia or diabetes mellitus with scant sweating.
