"Hypothesis of Eastern Origin": This is also called "Tibetans originated from Qiang," which sees their origins in the Qiang nationality, a western Chinese ethnic group. The term Qiang, or Western Qiang, applied from the Shang to the Sui/Tang dynasties (16 century BC-907 AD), refers to all western nationalities. There were many tribes of Qiang, including Fa-qiang, Tang-mao, Mao-niu, all of whom migrated to the Tibetan plateau several centuries before Christ. Among them, the Yarlung of Mao-niu (Yak) tribe unified all tribes and became the forefather of the ancient Tubo Kingdom.
Though there are historical materials supporting this hypothesis, it cannot explain all the historical phenomena. For instance, archeological excavation has revealed some inhabitants on the plateau before the Qiang nationality migrated there
Here, we would like to mention some of the archeological discoveries on the
China's Tibetan medicine, confirming that primitive society existed there and underwent the same transformations as elsewhere. There is certainly evidence of a stone age, and they must have passed through the bronze and iron ages, although no discoveries have been made so far to confirm this.
