Indications: Headache, vertigo, redness, swelling and pain of eyes, nearsightedness, epiphora with wind, night blindness, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, epistaxis, tinnitus, deafness, epilepsy, apoplexy, stiffness and pain of neck, common cold, febrile disease, malaria and goiter.
Blood velocity in the vertebral artery and the basilar artery was observed before and after acupuncture at Fengchi point (GB 20) in 97 patients by transcranial Doppler ultrasonic detecting. The results showed that the blood velocity in patients with either high or low blood flow had significant changes after acupuncture .
Location: On the nape, below the occipital bone, on the level of Fengfu(DU16), in the depression between the upper ends of the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles.
Indications: Headache, dizziness, insomnia, stiffness of the neck and nape, blurring of vision, optic atrophy,conjunctivitis, tinnitns, convulsion, infantile convulsion, epilepsy, fever, common cold, stuffy nose, rbinorrhea withturbid discharge.
