Sources: The drug is the dried of fresh whole herb of Salvia splendens Ker-Gawl. (Family Labiatae), growing originally in Brazil, cultivated in yard all over China.

Actions and Indications: The herb is used as antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, antioncotic and blood purify-ying agent, for the treatment of carbuncles, traumatic injury, pain due to dislocation and snake-bite.

The latest research shows that: the drug is very effective for diabetes.
