Course The Triple Warmer Channel of Hand-Shaoyang starts from the ulnar side of the tip of the ring finger (Point Guanchong, SJ1), and runs upwards between the two fingers i. e. , the 4th and 5th metacarpal bones. Along the dorsum of the wrist, it travels to the dorsal side of the forearm between the two bones or the radius and ulna. It goes upwards through the olecranon, along the lateral aspect of the upper arm, to the shoulder region, where it meets the Gall Bladder Channel of Foot Shaoyang, and afterwards leaves its posterior aspect for the supraclavicular fossa. From the fossa it descends arther, is distributed to Point Danzhong (RN17), or the region in the centre between the two breasts, and communicates with the pericardium. Descending through the diaphragm, it reaches the triple warmer, i.e. the upper, middle and lower portions of the body cavity in succession. One of its branches originates from Point Shanzhong (RN17) and ascends to the supraclavicular fossa, from where it goes upwards to the nape of the neck. From the posterior border of the ear, it makes a direct ascent through the superior aspect of the auricula, curves down the cheek, and then reaches the infraorbital region. Another branch originates in the retro-auricular region and passes into the ear. Emerging in front of the ear, it runs in front of Point Shangguan(GB3), across the above-mentioned branch at the cheek and reaches the outer canthus, where it connects with the Gall Bladder Channel of Foot-Shaoyang.
