Course This channel commences from the chest where it exits from its pertaining organ,the pericardium.Then it descends the diaphragm and links up with the triple warmers in the upper,the middle and the lower portions of the body cavity. One of its branches runs along the chest,through the costal region at a point 3 cun below the armpit,and ascends to the axilla.From the medial aspect of the upper arm,it makes its way downwards between the Lung Channel and the Heart Channel,and reaches the cubital fossa. From there it runs still further downwards to the forearm between the tendons of m. palmaris longus and m. flexorcarpi,and enters the palm.It runs along the middle finger to its tip(Point Zhongchong,PC9). Another branch of its leaves the palm(Point Laogong,PC8),runs along the ring finger to its tip(Point Guanchong,SJ1),and connects with the Triple Warmer Channel of Hand-Shaoyang.
Neiguan(PC6) Location: On the palmar side of the forearm and on the line connecting Quze(PC3) and Daling(PC7), 2 cun above the crease of the wrist. Indications:Precordial pain,palpitation,chest ditress,pain in the hypochondriac region,vomiting and nausea,hiccup,manic-depressive psychosis,epilepsy,insomnia,fever,irritability,malaria,contraction of the elbow and arm. Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-0.8 inch. Moxibustion is applicable. Regional anatomy Vasculature: The median artery and vein; deeper, the anterior interosseous artery and vein.
