Xuehai(SP10)

Course
The channel starts from the tip of the medial side of the great toe(Yin-bai,SP1).From there it runs along the junction of the red and white skin of the medial aspect of the great fot ,passes the posterior surface of ¡°Hegu¡±,the nodular process on the medial aspectof the first metatarsophalangeal joint and ascends in front of the medial malleolus to the medial aspect of the calf .It makes its way along theposterior border of the tibia,ascends in front of the Liver Channel of Foot-Jueyin,goes through the anterior medial aspect of the knee and thigh,and into the abdominal cavity,then enters its pertaining organ ,the spleen,and communicates with the stomach.From there it goes through the diaphragm,and upwards along the two sides of the throat,reaches the root of the tongue and spreads over its lower surface.
The branch of the channel sprouts from the stomach,goes upwards through the diaphragm,disperse into the heart and connects with Heart Channel of Hand-Shaoyin.

Xuehai(SP10)
Location: With the knee flexed, on the medial side of the thigh, 2 cun above the superior medial corner of the patella, on the prominence of the medial head of the quadriceps muscle of the thigh.
Indications: Irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, metrorrhagia or metrostaxis,amenorrhea, rubella, eczema.erysipelas, pain in the medial part of the thigh.
Method: Puncture perpendicularly 0.5-1.2 inches. Moxibustion is applicable.
Regional anatomy
Vasculature: The muscular branches of the femoral artery and vein.
Innervation: The anterior femoral cutaneous nerve and the muscular branch
of the femoral nerve.
