2. 2. 6 Yin link and yang link vessels

2.2.6.1 Cyclical flowing and distribution
2,2.6.1.1 Yin link vessel
The yin link vessel starts from the medial aspect of the leg and ascends along the medial aspect of the thigh to the abdomen to combine with the spleen meridian. Then it runs along the chest and combines with the conception vessel (see Fig. 95).
2.2.6,1.2 Yang link vessel
The yang link vessel starts from the heel and emer-ges from the external malleolus. From there, it ascends along the lateral side of the lower limbs to the posterior side of the hypochondriac and costal regions. From the posterior aspect of the axilla, it moves up to the shoulder. Then it runs to the forehead and turns backward to the back of the neck to combine with the governor vessel (see Fig. 96).

2.2.6.2 Indications

Yin link and yang link vessels govern the superficies of the whole body. Clinically the indication of yin link vessel mainly includes interior sthenia syndromes, such as the disorders of the heart, chest and stomach; while the indication of yang link vessel mainly includes exterior as-thenia syndromes, such as aversion to cold and fever, ex-ogenous febrile disease and the disorders involving the ar-eas through which the meridian passes.

2.2.6.3 Crossing acupoints
2,2.6,3,1 Yin link vessel
Kidney meridian: Zhubin (KI 9).
Spleen meridian: Chongmen ( SP 12 ), Fushe ( SP 13), Daheng (SP 15) and Fu'ai (SP 16).
Liver meridian: Qimen (LR 14).
Conception vessel: Tiantu ( CV 22 ) and Lianquan (CV 23).
Besides, Neiguan (PC 6) of the pericardium meridian is also connected with the yin link vessel.
2.2.6.3.2 Yang link vessel
Bladder meridian: Jinmen (BL 63).
Gallbaldder meridian. Yangjiao ( GB 35 ), Jianjing (GB 21), Fengchi (GB 20), Naokong (GB19),Chengling (GB 18), Zhengying (GB 17), Muchuang (GB 16), Toulinqi (GB 15), Benshen (GB 13) and Yangbai (GB 14).
Small intestine meridian: Naoshu (SI 10).
Triple energizer meridian: Tianliao (TE 15).
Governor vessel: Fengfu ( GV 16 ) and Yamen (GV 15).
Besides, Waiguan (TE 15) of the triple energizer meridian is also connected with the yang link vessel.
