(1) Hysterical Mutism:
Point:
Yongquan -- K 1
Puncture:
Use a 1.5 curt thick needle.
Technique:
Puncture Yongquan on one side up to 3/4 of a cun deep. Thrust, lift and rotate the needle for about 3 minutes while you talk to the patient.
If the patient does not fully recover, puncture the other side.
(2) Hysterical Paralysis:
Point:
Huantiao -- GB 30
Puncture:
Use a 3.5 cun, gauge 28 needle.
Technique:
Insert the needle up to 3 tun deep toward the geni-talia. Thrust and lift the needle with reducing ma-nipulation for 3 minutes to induce numbness or even an electrical sensation radiating to the lower limbs.
Remove the needle thereafter.
(3) Hysterical Spasm:
Point:
Zhongwan -- Ren 12
Puncture:
Use a 2 curt needle.
Technique:
Insert the needle perpendicularly up to 1.5 cun deep, Perform a reducing manipulation with strong stimula-tion until the spasm stops.
