Point:
Renzhong-GV 26

Particularity:
Opens the orifices to induce resuscitation.
Clears heat and extinguishes wind.

Puncture:

With a 2 cun needle, at the opposite side of the painful part, puncture horizontally towards Yingxiang (Li 20)

Technique:

From a standing position, hold the tip of the nose firmly. Insert the needle gently for about 1.5 cun. Stimulate the needle gently until pain occurs.

Get the patient to bend slowly forward, while turning the needle gently in a rotation similar to the motion of the patient.

Once the patient is bent to the maximum, ask the patient to come back to the straight position while you turn the needle gently the opposite way.

Repeat the procedure 2 or 3 times. The pain should disappear shortly afterwards.

Note:

This procedure is painful but very effective.
