Rheumatism is a medical term once frequently used to describe disorders associated with many different parts of the body. Mostly people associate rheumatism with arthritis, or with Rheumatic fever, complications of strep throat that can result in damage to the heart.
The main efficacy of Western medicine is immunosuppressant and hormone, the same as therapeutic action of medicine, side effect caused by long-term drug use should not be ignored.

Originally, a hot water extract of the plant was used, but this approach had many adverse effects.
In the 1970s two new extracts were developed; one is an ethyl acetate extract while the other, now known as T2, is a chloroform-methanol extract.
