Foot Therapy for Diarrhoea

Diarrhoea is a common disease manifested such as frequent and watery bowels. Diarrhoea lasting for over two months is considered to be chronic problem.
The treatment for diarrhoea by foot therapy is to make the spleen and stomach work harder, thus improving the function of lover and kidney.

Reflecting area in pathology

Kidney, Ureter, Urinary bladder, Lung, Spleen,


Stomach, Small intestine, Large intestine, Duodenum, Liver, Gallbladder, Lymph nodes (chest), Pelvic lymph.

Acupuncture points

Tsusanli, Shangchuhsu, hsiachuhsu, Taichung, Yongchuan, Taipai, Shanyinchiao

Steps and methods

1. Press successively Kidney and urinary bladder areas 100 times each until you have a little bit pain at the point.

2. Press Ureter area back and forth for 100 times, with the speed of 30to 50 times/minute.

3. Press Lung area back and forth for 100 times, with the speed of 30 to 50 times/minute.

4. Press and knead spleen, Stomach, Duodenum areas 100 times, with a moderate local pain.
5. Press Zusanli, Shangjuxu, Xiajuxu, Taichong, Yongquan, Taibai, and Sanyinjiao 50 times each, with a moderate local pain.

6. Press Small intestine, ascending colon, Sigmoid colon and Rectum, area back and forth for 50 times,with the speed of 30 to 50 times/minute.

7. Press Liver, Gallbladder, Lymph nodes (chest), and Pelvic Lymph 50 times each, with a moderate local pain.

8. Repeat step 1,2,3, by half.

Sequence of massage:

When you practise foot massage yourself, first massage the left foot, and then the right foot.

Course of treatment:

Do the massage once daily. One treatment for 10 days. It is more successful with herbal medicines.
